Felony charges filed in UCLA burn accident

In 2008, a lab research associate at University of California Los Angeles was working on an experiment in the lab. After a highly reactive chemical spilled, it caught on fire and caused a serious, and ultimately fatal, burn accident. According to charges that have recently been filed, the victim's family is holding UCLA and the student's chemistry professor responsible.

Reckless driving causes five accidents in California

At least 10 cars were involved in a series of car accidents occurring at almost the same time in California last week. A number of people were hospitalized. Negligent or reckless driving, including driving too fast for road conditions, can lead to serious injuries such as spinal cord or brain injuries in a car accident. Luckily, injuries in this case were minor.

Serious injuries can be sustained in California accidents

Pedestrians are very vulnerable on Los Angeles roads. They are the most exposed to motorists and dangerous conditions. When a driver is negligent or reckless and causes an accident, the damage to a pedestrian can be quite substantial. Lawsuit filed against California weight loss clinic

Allegations of unnecessary surgeries, unsanitary conditions and medical mistakes have prompted former employees and patients to file a lawsuit against a popular weight loss center in Los Angeles. The clinic performs Lap-Band procedures, and is allegedly responsible for the wrongful death of at least five patients.

An injury that is caused by burning or scalding can be one of the most painful injuries. A burn can be very damaging to skin and, in more serious cases, muscles and blood vessels. Even minor burns can cause long-term effects. Burn injuries that are sustained after using a defective product can be very dangerous.

Defective cars increase chance of crash, 450,000 recalled

Driving a car that has faulty or malfunctioning parts can put a California driver at risk of getting in a car accident. According to the National Safety Council, there have been 2.4 million disabling injuries and 44,700 deaths caused by a motor vehicle accident in the country.
