The editors of The Daily Journal review hundreds of nominations before choosing the women on their list. Christine (Chris) has been recognized by the organization since 2002.

California Limo Fire: Tragedy Strikes Bachelorette Party

According to the driver of a limo that killed five women enjoying a bachelorette party, the limo burst into flames a mere 90 seconds after a passenger alerted him to smoke. The driver pulled the limo over on the San Mateo Bridge (which crosses the San Francisco Bay) and was able to escape with four of the women, but the others were trapped inside the back of the limo.

Two Planes Collide Near Los Angeles

Two small planes crashed in the mountains in Southern California Monday, killing one pilot. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County sheriff said that one plane crashed into a ridge after the collision while the other landed on a golf course fairway. The three passengers in the second plane suffered minor injuries and were able to walk away from the plane crash.
