Three People Killed in 110 Freeway Crash

Three people were killed early Saturday morning in a minivan accident. CBS Los Angeles reports that the minivan ran off of the northbound connector between the 110 Freeway and the 5 Freeway. The van reportedly hit a concrete wall, flipped and skidded. The accident happened shortly after midnight. California Highway Patrol officials report that four people were ejected from the vehicle.

Three people died in this crash:

  • Abigail Estrella, age 37
  • Abigail Romero, age 19
  • Katie Davila, age 12

The 55-year-old male driver of the minivan and three passengers survived the crash. Two of the surviving passengers are small children who were treated at USC Medical Center for minor to moderate injuries.

It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle. Authorities did not report whether the individuals who were ejected had their seatbelts on.

Video of the crash shows a white GNC minivan on its side. The van sustained extensive damage.
