Los Angeles Driver Stabbed Before Fatally Hitting Pedestrian

When a pedestrian is struck and killed by an automobile in Los Angeles, police look to investigate whether the driver of the automobile was at fault. However, in a recent case, another individual — and not the driver or the deceased person — appears to be at fault for causing the tragic car accident death of a pedestrian.

On Dec. 9, a pedestrian was hit by a minivan after the vehicle drove onto a busy sidewalk in Burbank. Police claim that the minivan driver had just been stabbed in the chest before he lost control of his vehicle.

The incident happened at approximately 5:40 p.m. in the Village District of Burbank, California. After the minivan driver lost control, a 52-year-old pedestrian was struck and pinned beneath the vehicle, where he succumbed to his injuries and died. However, it does not appear that the minivan driver was at fault. Apparently, the minivan driver had just been stabbed in his chest.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found a graphic and bloody scene with lots of movement, as they tried to rescue the driver. At this time, the how and why of the driver’s stabbing remains unknown by authorities, who have not been able to question the driver due to the fact that he is currently in critical condition. They do not even know when the driver was stabbed or by who.

In terms of filing a personal injury claim for car accident damages, and wrongful death claims relating to a loved one’s death, it is vital to identify the party responsible. In cases that involve a driver who is injured by another person, and then loses control of his or her car and causes an accident, it is vital to determine who the person who injured the driver was so that he or she can be held both criminally and civilly responsible for the legal violations and damages that have occurred.
