Two women die in Los Angeles car rescue attempt

In our last post we discussed a serious crash between a bus and a train in downtown Los Angeles. That mass transit accident took out a light pole and almost impacted a nearby fire hydrant. Authorities were concerned that if the fire hydrant was hit, there would have been a repeat of a recent Valley Village neighborhood accident which left two women dead.

Dozens of commuters were sent to the hospitals after a serious Los Angeles transit accident Monday morning. The crash occurred shortly before 7 a.m. on Monday when the Metro Blue Line hit a MTA bus. The accident happened at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and San Pedro Street in downtown Los Angeles according to KABC-TV.

Off-label marketing is a common practice among major drugmakers and typically involves the promotion of a drug to treat ailments without adequate studies into whether the drug is safe for this unapproved use.

Painkillers are powerful pharmaceuticals that can lead to a patient's death. One relatively uncommonly prescribed painkiller has been linked to a disproportionately large amount of deaths in the past few years.

High School Coach Arrested After Fatal Fresno Pedestrian Accident

A Fresno high school coach was recently charged with four felonies after allegedly causing the wrongful death of a 7-year-old boy in a drunk driving car accident. The Fresno Bee reports that the 42-year-old coach was driving while intoxicated on July 25th when he ran over the 7-year-old boy, the boy's father, and the boy's 18-year-old sister.

California Man Dies in Multiple-Car Accident in Modesto

A 52-year-old California man is dead after a serious multiple-vehicle truck accident near San Francisco. Authorities say that the crash happened in Modesto on Highway 99 yesterday morning around 11 a.m. A 25-year-old driver was going northbound on the highway and sideswiped a truck as she attempted to switch lanes.

Long Beach Worker's Death Prompts Federal Inspection of Dock Company

California dock loading services company SSA Marine was recently cited by federal safety regulators for health and safety violations that resulted in a worker's death. The worker was fatally crushed in January when a shipping container became dislodged from a stack of containers at the port of Long Beach.
