Pedestrian Killed in Accident Prompted by Police Chase

|

A tragic car accident in Los Angeles that was prompted by a brief police pursuit has left an innocent pedestrian dead and a community outraged. Just like a few weeks ago, it involves the Pacific Coast Highway, and again, it, unfortunately, involves a fatality.

The crash was precipitated by a man who stole a car. The police responded to the incident, but it became evident that the person stealing the car was prepared to travel at extreme and unsafe speeds to get away from the police. As such, the police called off the pursuit, and it was shortly after this decision that the man in the stolen car crashed. The vehicle collided with multiple parked cars, and the scene was ablaze as a result of the wreck.

The man that was killed was a 28-year-old that was working in a garden when the crash happened. By all accounts, he was a good, hard-working person who suffered a needless end to his life at the hands of a negligent driver.

The criminal aspect of this case makes it a little weird for the personal injury realm of law. However, this exact accident could have happened without the context of a stolen car. Someone could have just been driving home after a long day at work, and they nodded off before crashing into a parked car. This is unacceptable in any context. When a person gets behind the wheel of a car, they assume the responsibility of being alert and courteous to others out on the road.
